Blackjack Rules

Learn how to play Blackjack at Tether21. Understand the rules, payouts, and strategies to maximize your chances of winning.

Game Objective

The goal of Blackjack is to beat the dealer's hand without exceeding 21. You win if:

Your hand total is higher than the dealer's without busting
The dealer busts (exceeds 21) and you don't
You get a Blackjack (21 with first two cards)

Tip: The closest to 21 wins, but going over 21 means you lose immediately!

Card Values

Number cards (2-10): Face value
Face cards (J, Q, K): 10 points each
Ace (A): 1 or 11 points (whichever benefits your hand)

Example Hands:

♠ A + ♥ J = Blackjack (21)
♦ 8 + ♣ 7 = 15 points
♥ A + ♠ 6 + ♦ 4 = 21 points (not Blackjack)

How to Play

Place your bet - Enter your wager amount
Receive cards - You get 2 cards face up, dealer gets 1 face up and 1 face down
Make your move - Choose to Hit, Stand, or Double Down
Dealer reveals - Dealer shows their face-down card
Dealer draws - Dealer must draw until reaching 17 or higher
Winner determined - Payouts are calculated based on results

Game Actions

Hit: Take another card to improve your hand
Stand: Keep your current hand and end your turn
Double Down: Double your bet and receive exactly one more card

Strategy: Always hit on 11 or less. Stand on 17 or higher. Double down on 11 against dealer's 2-10.

Dealer Rules

Dealer must draw on 16 or less
Dealer must stand on 17 or more
Dealer does NOT have the option to hit or stand - it's automatic
Dealer wins all ties unless you have Blackjack
If dealer has Blackjack, all non-Blackjack hands lose immediately

Additional Rules

🔹 Blackjack Rules:

A natural Blackjack (Ace + 10-value card) beats any 21 achieved with 3 or more cards
If both player and dealer have Blackjack, it's a push (tie) - bet returned
Blackjack pays 3:2 (1.5x your bet in profit)

🔹 Busting:

If your hand exceeds 21, you lose immediately (even if dealer busts later)
If dealer busts, all remaining players win

🔹 Important Notes:

Each game session is independent - no card counting possible (new deck each hand)
Double Down available on any first two cards (standard 2x bet, one additional card)
Insurance is not available in this version
Split is not available in this version

Basic Strategy Reminder:

Always hit on 8 or less
Double down on 11 against dealer 2-10
Stand on 12-16 if dealer shows 2-6
Always hit 12-16 if dealer shows 7-Ace
Always stand on 17 or higher
